What's that you say? A GIVEAWAY? "I love lavender" edition

Today I want to talk about products. Namely, household products that make your life easier and more comfortable. And even more specifically, household products that are lavender-based. Lavender has always been my favorite color, and somewhere along the line, the smell of lavender became one of my favorite scents as well. Here are some of my favorite products:
  1. Glade plug-ins scented oil in lavender and vanilla. My husband, a New-York-educated lawyer who has conducted jury trials (in Memphis no less; think Matthew McConaughey in "A Time to Kill" -- HOT!!!) and is one of the most brilliant men I've ever known, calls these "smell-goods." Ha.
  2. Method all-purpose spray in French lavender. I use this spray all over the house, but especially on kitchen and bathroom countertops. No harsh smell here, just the scent of a breeze floating over lavender fields in the French countryside!
  3. Febreze lavender, vanilla and comfort air freshener. I don't know what the "comfort" smell is, exactly, but I do know that I love, love, love this scent. It really is comforting!
I've always wanted to do a giveaway but I've yet to be approached by whoever it is that trolls the blog-o-sphere, looking for lady bloggers with just the right cool quotient to sponsor giveaways. Apparently I just haven't met that quotient yet. Sigh. And since nothing brings out lurkers and blog readers like a giveaway (and I'm curious to see how many readers I have), I'm going to do my very first giveaway sponsored BY ME!!! Now, don't get too excited...these three products totaled together are going to cost me, what? A whopping 12 dollars? But hey, it's fun for me and FREE FOR YOU!

All you have to do to participate is leave me a comment (can't be anonymous, of course) recommending a favorite household product that you use faithfully. That's it! And since I think my blog readers are quite few in number, your chances of winning are really pretty good! So comment away and good luck! (p.s. I will be using that random generator number thingey to determine the winner; I promise, no favorites!)

Edited to add: I will be closing this contest on Friday, April 23rd at 5:00 p.m. and hope to get the package in the mail that weekend (it's already ready to go!). So far there are only 7 entrants...Good luck to everyone!

I'll be the first to throw my name in the hat. Let's see, a favorite household product. I don't use anything fancy to make our home smell nice, but I must say that I enjoy the scent of lemon-flavored Soft Scrub. Hey, what do you expect from an OCD'er like me? (By the by, I read the funniest thing the other day. Someone made a comment that a person who truly had OCD would call it CDO so that the letters would be in alphabetical order. Awesome!)

Lavender method cleaner. I kid you not. This girl I know gave me a bottle at my bridal shower and I've been hooked EVER SINCE! :) I LOVE lavender scents, so, really, it was a no-brainer anyway! :) Nice giveaway!

My two fave smells around the house have to be lavender and any version of the clean cotton/clean laundry scent. So my fave, go-to product is the lavender bedtime bath from Johnson & Johnson. I LOVE this stuff. There's NOTHING better than a baby all freshly bathed with this babywash.

I've been seeing the method brand all of the place - magazines, articles online. I need to try this!

Count me in! Favorite product...hmm...I'm picky, so there really aren't that many. I love Martha Stewart Home wood floor cleaner - smells wonderful and works great. I use it by the boatload.

Emily -- I think I know that girl who gave you Method lavender spray at your bridal shower. She's a way cool chick, isn't she? :)
I remember your whole shower present; I had SO MUCH FUN putting it together. Do you still use those funky-shaped green vases?

Kristen -- maybe you'll get lucky and WIN, so you can try Method out!!!

Gosh, Be, do you really remember everything you give to people at showers? I'm impressed. Emily, speaking of your shower, I have photos of that day that I would like to give you. I sent them with my husband to give to your husband at man night a few years ago, but I don't think they ever made it. I will try to send them your way again, if you're interested.

Am I too late?

Favorite household cleaner... hmm... I'm not really loyal to one particular brand but I am a big fan of those disinfectant wipes. They make cleaning the bathroom (and kitchen) so much easier!

Um, do I USE them?? They're on my mantle with these wavy/curly looking stick things in them! We used them to choose the paint color in our home! :) I LOVE those vases!!! It's so weird, I can't remember important things, but I can remember who gave us every wedding/baby gift. It's creepy!!! I think of you everytime I use method cleaner and my yellow "how to care for a home" book (which is ragged I've used it so much!). :)

Emily -- Oh you mean the indefatiguable "Home Comforts"??? I think every bride should go in to her marriage armed with a copy of that book!!! I big-puffy-HEART that book (thanks to my bestie Kate for giving me MY copy!).

Ashley -- Nope, you're not too late! I forgot to say that I'm keeping the contest open for another week or so (I'll put that in my next post so it's clear to everyone else, too).

Oooh...do you ship to Cambodia? Ha :) I get excited when I can find a bottle of Fantastic imported to the local store...great for cleaning my kitchen counters and table.

I'm glad you have your blog open again. Will looks very sweet and dear. Your lists for going to the hospital were impressive!

Thanks so much for dropping a kind note to me and praying for Calvin. Wishing you good health in the remainder of your pregnancy.

Kara -- I will absolutely find a way to ship to Cambodia if you win! Of course!!!

I think of you and Calvin quite often and pray for you all when I can. I LOVE your blog and love keeping up with your life on the other side of the world!

Oh my favorite household cleaner is Mr. Cleans Magic Eraser's I LOVE them, one swipe and the dog prints on the wall are gone, the handle of the fridge is clean fast. They have all different kinds now but, I still use the original because I think why fix something that is not broke...LOL I love the smell of lavender as well and use it in body washes, shampoos ect. I love it SO much I am having Ellen plant some in my yard before she moves.
